This artwork is a focal piece in the 2026 series of dark and dreamy floral 'pondscapes' created in mixed media. This dramatic pond moment draws the viewer in to fantasize while taking in the layers of rich colors and shimmering paint accents.
 
The single lily bloom is created with gesso, adding texture and depth to the lightest part of the painting. Surrounding the stunning bloom are lily pads drenched in opulent bordeaux-tones and orchid purple layers of color, all while the ethereal floating green and aqua lily pads cover the remaining parts of the painting. Together, the movement and quiet stillness of this artwork have captured a hidden moment of beauty, perhaps one only two lovers have seen during a stolen moment together in the dark.
