I wanted this small painting of Mother Mary to feel like a little piece of light in the darkness.
Mary is depicted simply, quietly, and without distraction. The deep blue background represents the unknown, the sorrow, and the seasons of life when faith can feel hardest to hold onto. Against that darkness, the metallic gold becomes more than ornamental. It becomes light, grace, and divine presence. Bible verse ✨️ Mark 11:24 is sketched in the corner of the painting.
The turquoise mantle brings another dimension to the traditional image of Mary. Jewel-toned and unexpected, it gives this devotional icon a contemporary spirit while still honoring the timeless symbolism of the Blessed Mother.
