A small-scale devotional portrait of the Blessed Mother, rendered in a striking palette of vibrant red and silver and gold metallics. Mary stands beneath an expansive gilded halo; her head bowed gently in prayer beneath a silver veil delicately traced with starry, red, ornamentation. Her mantle introduces vivid reds and metallic gold painted dots, while the hand-applied metallic gold leaf creates a sense of warmth, radiance, and divine light.
Set within an ornate gold frame, Mini Mother Mary evokes the feeling of a treasured heirloom—something sacred that might have been passed from one generation to the next.
Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go." (NIV).
I wanted this small painting of Mother Mary to feel bold, fearless and inspiring, just like the bible verse chosen for this artwork.
Mary is depicted simply, quietly, and without distraction. Bible verse ✨️Joshua 1:9 is sketched into the painting to express the meaning behind the artwork.
The mantle brings another dimension to the traditional image. The colors are bold and unexpected; it gives this devotional icon a contemporary spirit while still honoring the timeless symbolism of the Blessed Mother.
Every element—the metallic halo, the hand-detailed veil, the gold accents, and the ornate frame—was created to make this miniature feel precious and enduring. Like a small devotional object discovered in an old chapel or inherited from someone you love, Mini Mother Mary is meant to carry a sense of comfort, protection, and quiet faith.
She is small in scale, but her presence is anything but.
A little Mother Mary. A little light. A reminder that grace can still be found in the dark.
