Medium & Materials: 
Two hand‑painted canvases (20″ × 16″ and 12″ × 12″), layered within a whitewashed wooden frame. Built with textured gesso, acrylic washes, and layered oil pastels for depth and tactile contrast.
'Open Seas' is a quiet, weightless, meditative artwork. The abstract shape feels like a suspended life form, evoking bioluminescence and slow-motion movement in the sea similar to a jellyfish. The layered composition mirrors oceanic depth in minimalist form.
Pale blues, sea greens, sandy neutrals, and soft pastel pinks reflect the underwater currents ans life forms of the majestic ocean. The gesso creates ridged texture; acrylic and oil pastels add a depth of color.
This piece pairs beautifully with 'Drift & Tide' and several other pieces in the coastal artwork collection.
