Artist’s Statement:
Summer Pop is a celebration of color, spontaneity, and the playful chaos of a summer in full bloom. Created with layers of acrylic paint, oil pastels, and textured gesso, this mixed media piece captures the effervescence and unpredictability of the season.
Bold shapes and bright pigments collide and melt together—just as ice cream does under a blazing sun—evoking the fleeting joy, heat, and freedom of summer days. The brushstrokes and line work are loose and kinetic, echoing laughter, movement, and the pulse of long sun-soaked afternoons.
It is both a visual explosion and a soft, emotional blur—a vibrant daydream that asks: What if color could dance, and feeling had shape? Summer Pop is that answer in motion.
