Artist’s Statement:
 
This dark, sultry lily pad pond becomes electric as reflections of the night's water are personified with metallic paints and gold leaf. Together, this mysterious artwork captures the quiet magic of still water at night—when the world softens and reflections begin to blur the line between what’s seen and what’s felt. Layers of deep blacks, midnight blues, rich purples, greens, move between the hazy soft blooms.
 
The brushwork moves between loose impressionism and reflects depth and movement beneath the surface. Subtle reflections in metallic golds, greens and blues, soften stroke marks. It is as if every piece in this dark pond collection invites the viewer to linger and experience the pond itself breathing, as the pond inhales life's secrets, memories, and exhales a calm within its darkened waters.
